The larva is whitish and convex, with a brownish head. The adult is a small beetle (about 2-3 mm long), reddish-brown in colour, with yellowish antennae and legs. The head is convex and wrinkled. They feed on the caryopses of various cereals, flour, pasta, legume seeds.
