LESSER GRAIN WEEVIL

Sitophilus oryzae

The C-shaped larvae are yellowish-white with a dark brown head. It is a small insect (about 2.5-4.5 mm long[2]), with blackish-brown elytra, varying from light to dark; it has a long rostrum and reddish geniculate antennae. The hind wings are absent, so it is unable to fly; the legs are reddish-brown. It feeds on cereal kernels, pasta and others.
