BED BUG

Cimex lectularius Linnaeus

The reddish-brown adult is about 6 mm long and is flattened dorsally and ventrally. This makes the insect able to squeeze into the smallest of recesses. The bedbug is a gregarious insect with nocturnal habits that hides from sunlight during the day. They suck blood from warm-blooded animals, especially humans, but in the absence of these they feed at the expense of other mammals and birds.
