The short, glossy coat varies individually from brownish to black. It covers the entire body, except for the legs, ears, tail and tip of the muzzle, which are almost completely glabrous and pinkish-grey in colour. Omnivorous and opportunistic, it generally feeds on grains, fruits, but is also attracted to fatty vegetable and animal foods (nuts, lard, salami, cheese, fish and insects).
