Black body with white transverse bands on the legs and abdomen and a white stripe down its back and head. It is a vector of several viral diseases, including dengue, yellow fever and some encephalitis in tropical areas and in many parts of Asia. Present in urban and suburban environments, in the countryside, in forested areas, it frequents gardens, parks, campsites, etc.
